Questions parents often ask.
Is every child suitable?
No. Suitability is checked through the pre-screening questions when you book, and again by the nurse on the day before your child is vaccinated. Please tell us about your child's health, any allergies and any medicines they take. If your child can't be vaccinated at our clinic, the nurse will explain and suggest you speak to your GP or pharmacist.
How many doses does my child need?
This depends on your child's age and health. Our nurses will talk to you about it at the clinic. You can also read the Australian Immunisation Handbook (linked on this page) or ask your GP. Please contact us if you have questions about any additional dose.
What are the possible side effects?
Our nurses will explain what to look out for before and after vaccination. For information from official sources, see the Australian Immunisation Handbook and the TGA's consumer medicine information, or ask your GP or pharmacist. In an emergency, call 000.
What if my child is unwell on the day?
Please let us know. The nurse will check how your child is and advise whether to go ahead or to reschedule.

This service is privately funded in Tasmania, so it is not free. The cost is shown when you book through Vitavo, and is paid at that time.
